Good Samaritan Ministry Inc. (GSM) was started with a passion to help the less fortunate people in India. Presently GSM has focussed its interests in the state of Odisha in East India.
GSM is a non-profit, inter-denominational, non-political, Christian charity aiming to influence the tribal, poor and remote people of India with the love of God in a practical way.
Projects are currently focussed in the Kalahandi-Bolangir-Koraput (KBK) districts in Odisha. These districts are internationally known for their high rates of hunger, starvation, poverty and lack of education. These areas often experience natural disasters, floods and droughts, in quick succession.
GSM was started by Ashok Mishal and his wife. Ashok grew up in one district of the KBK, and received education through a charitable mission. He now wishes to give people like himself the opportunity to change their future. This can be done through sponsorship of children, widows or pastors, or through particular projects such as Christmas gifts or other once off donations to meet the needs of those who require assistance the most.
